A Glamaphones Fundraiser
Help get The Glamaphones get to Out and Loud LGBTQIA+ choir festival in Perth this November! We are hosting an art exhibition and auction as part of Wellington Pride in March 2026 to highlighting local rainbow, queer and takatāpui artists and creatives. Our intent is to raise funds for The Glamaphones (Wellington’s Rainbow Community Choir) to attend in November 2026, where we have been invited to perform as part of the festivities. We would be very grateful if Stuff.co.nz could help us to promote our fundraising events.
The events will be held over the weekend of Friday 20 – Saturday 21st March, upstairs at Thistle Hall, Cuba Street. There will be a quiz night on that Friday, (purchase tickets $20 from Try Booking) which includes a special preview of the auction works, and sales of fixed price art works and a smaller items market. These sales will continue throughout Saturday. The art auction will be on Saturday evening. $5 door charge, limited spaces available. Tickets can be purchased here.
With over 25 rainbow, queer and takatāpu creatives visual art and textiles being showcased, there's something for everyone. We have some fixed price items as well as our auction items.
Find us on Facebook, Instagram and on the Wellington Pride Festival website.
As well as paintings, prints and textiles, we will have a range of market-style products available, including art prints, stickers, jewelry, tote bags, knitted/crocheted items, and more!
The Glamaphones choir has long been a source of musical pleasure and friendship to the Wellington region LGBTQIA+ community and beyond, both through performances and through membership. We are looking forward to sharing our music with the Out and Loud Choir Festival in Perth, Western Australia, representing Te Whanganui-a-Tara, and building network throughout Australasia and beyond!
