Description

In 'How to See a Song, How to Hear a Picture' four artists cross disciplines and oceans to explore whakapapa, ritual, and sound, amidst the unheard and the unseen. Ancient relics receive new colours, old taonga become new heirlooms, and 2D paintings are given the opportunity to sing.

With taonga puoro from Alistair Fraser, photography from Neil Johnstone, and paintings from Ruby Solly, a silent and otherworldly magic is taken from the walls and the air, to the page in this commemorative text that explores process, intention, and journeys both external and internal.

EVENTS

Alistair will perform taonga pūoro looping Friday and Saturday 12:30-1:30pm and 5-6pm
