Sunday – Embodied Dance workshop with Kaia Hawkins of Manahau Embodied Movement.
2 – 4.15 PM – Dress ups and dancing!
On Sunday we find ourselves in creativity with movement. We get to explore the dance of our Pūmanawa, Manawa and Whatumanawa ((3x heart spaces)). 27 sculptures are present to support and inspire. These wearable sculptures by Siân are physical manifestations of feelings that you can try on and move with.
All are welcome ~ come with your water bottle and wear clothes that are comfortable to move in.

Exhibition info -
The next weekend my new exhibition of wearable sculptures and drawings ‘My heart is in here’ opens - 7th August at Hunters and Collectors, running until 1st September. The opening is on Friday 7th August from 5 - 7pm, with a special performance at 5, and you are invited!
This show will be a collection of precious wearable objects - sculptures that you can put on, wear close to your body. Some of them are small like a talisman. Others are larger, with silk velvet cushions that nestle into your chest or rib cage. You can hang them on the wall when you need a reminder that there are ways to protect ourselves at the same time as showing others how we feel, without needing to use words. Or you can wear them - they want to go with you. Some of them have parts that stick out - I don't always want a hug, maybe you have those times too? These works exist to say it's ok, we can, and do, feel all of these things.
I will also show a series of drawings that have been made over the last couple of years of exploring how feelings look when they are embodied through movement and put on paper in expressive drawings.
Please join me to celebrate on Friday 7th August at Hunters and Collectors - upstairs at 134 Cuba St, Wellington. I will be there on Saturday afternoons - I will send times with the reminder email closer to the time.
Show runs 7th August to 1st Sept and is open daily 10.30 - 5.30 except Sunday till 4.30pm
